For the first time at the Ikeja City Mall, fondly​ called the ICM, an autograph session was held with none other than the living musical legend himself, 2Face Idibia, headlining the event. He was accompanied by his entourage including his protégé, Dammy Krane and a host of other recording artistes from his label Hypertek Digital.

He is currently embarking on a nationwide tour promoting his erstwhile LP, ‘The Ascension’, and the two forthcoming releases 'Face2Face 10.0' and ‘Rewindselectuptodate’.

Guy Scott (pictured above with his wife and the Obamas) was sworn in today as the interim president of Zambia following the death of Zambian president Michael Sata yesterday Oct. 28th. This makes Mr Scott, who is of Scottish descent but born in Zambia, the first white president in Africa since apartheid.

Guy Scott, 70, became vice-president of Zambia in 2011 and will serve as interim-president pending when the country holds fresh elections for a new president within 90 days. The Zambian constitution makes it impossible for Scott to be president because his parents were not born in Zambia.

Google Vice-President Skydives From The Stratosphere!

A Google executive set a new world record for the farthest skydive as he jumped from a balloon near the top of the stratosphere!

Alan Eustace, 57, is a senior vice-president at Google, and at dawn he was lifted by a balloon filled with 35,000 cubic feet of helium from an abandoned runway at the airport in Roswell, New Mexico.

For a little over two hours, the balloon ascended at speeds up to 1,600 feet per minute to an altitude of more than 25 miles. Eustace dangled underneath in a specially designed spacesuit with an elaborate life-support system. He returned to earth just 15 minutes after starting his fall.

“It was amazing,” he said. “It was beautiful. You could see the darkness of space and you could see the layers of atmosphere, which I had never seen before.”

Eustace cut himself loose from the balloon with the aid of a small explosive device and plummeted toward the Earth at speeds that peaked at 822 mph, setting off a small sonic boom heard by observers on the ground.

Eustace’s top altitude was initially REPORTED as 135,908 feet. The final number being submitted to the World Air Sports Federation is 135,890 feet. The previous altitude record was set by Austrian daredevil Felix Baumgartner, who jumped from 128,100 feet on Oct. 14, 2012.

Nurse Nina Pham, the first person to contract Ebola in the US met with president Obama at The White this afternoon where she received a hug from him.

Nina, who contracted Ebola while treating Liberian Thomas Eric Duncan at the Emory University hospital in Texas, is now free from the virus after being successfully treated at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda. In a new interview with Vibe Magazine, rapper Tyga slammed his label Young Money and his other label mate, Drake. He doesn't like Drake and he made his feelings known. Tyga said;

"I’m tryna’ go independent. I don’t really get along with Drake. I don’t really get along with Nicki. I don't like Drake as a person. He’s just fake to me. I like his music; you know what I’m saying? I think his music is good, but we’re all different people. We were forced together and it was kinda like we were forcing relationships together. It is what it is."

Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen to donate $100m to tackle Ebola

Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, 61, who is worth about $17billion, announced today October 23rd that he will donate $100 million to the fight against Ebola, which has killed thousands of people all around the world. This donation makes him the largest individual donor in the Ebola crisis so far.

"Everybody feels called sometimes to really pursue a certain thing that resonates with them, and this has resonated with me. We’re up against an extremely tough opponent here. The exponential nature of the growth of this disease is really a challenge - we’ve already seen in the U.S. where one case quickly became two.” Allen told NY Times
