The Safe Haven actress teamed up with QVC for the 20th annual FFANY Shoes on Sale benefit and went all out for the occasion in a revealing backless dress.
The gala was held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York to raise money for breast cancer research, education and awareness with a dress code of cocktail attire and fabulous pink shoes.
Dressed to impress: Julianne Hough went for a
backless navy dress at the QVC andl FFANY Shoes on Sale benefit in New
York on Tuesday
While Julianne looked fabulous in her shimmering navy dress, it was impossible to tell if she adhered to the shoe code as her outfit was floor length.
She wisely arranged her blonde hair in an updo so as not to distract from the main feature of the dress, the open back.
Dress code: While the dress code called for pink
shoes, it was impossible to see if Julianne adhered to it as she walked
the carpet on Tuesday
After being announced as the 2013 spokesperson for the event earlier this year, Julianne said: ‘There are many bonds that women share. Unfortunately breast cancer is one that negatively impacts so many.
‘Having the opportunity to take a positive bond like a passion for shoes and adapt it to benefit a worthy cause such as this is incredibly fulfilling.’
This year, over 120,000 pairs of shoes from more than 80 different brands are scheduled to be offered at half the manufacturer’s suggested retail price, with net proceeds benefiting breast cancer research and education institutions.
Over the past 19 years, QVC and FFANY have raised more than $41 million for the cause.
Julianne was joined on the carpet by stars including Lisa Rinna, who defied her 50 years in a skintight leather and lace dress with heels featuring a pink fluffy detail.
Star Jones went for a more low-key outfit of black trousers and black hair leaving her bouffant curly hair as the main attraction.
Jill Martin wore an old fashioned print dress while Kelly Bensimon was fresh in a youthful pink top and skirt.
Fashion fail: Howard Stern's wife Beth Ostrosky
Stern and TV personality Jill Martin failed to adhere to the pink shoes
dress code
