The deal is settled! No fewer than 17 PDP Senators are to defect to the
All Progressives Congress, within the week as they resume on Tuesday,
this is according to Senator Bindowo Jibrilla, one of the PDP senators
who is dumping the party to join the APC.
Bukola Saraki and Shaaba Lafiagi (Kwara State), Magnus Abe and Wilson Ake (Rivers State), and Basheer Mohammed and Hayatu Gwarzo (Kano State).
Others are Umar Abubakar Tutare and Aisha Jummai Alhassan (Taraba State), Senator Danjuma Goje from Gombe State, Adamu Abdullahi from Nasarawa State and all the three PDP senators from Sokoto State.
Senator Jibrilla from Adamawa State, who disclosed the defection plans
at the weekend, said the senators will communicate their plans through
separate letters to the Senate President, David Mark, on resumption.
Senator Jibrilla stressed that PDP would suffer for the maltreatment it gave to it governors and lawmakers.
He said: “The same thing that forced our governors out is what will force us, the affected federal lawmakers out of the party. In the case of Adamawa, the elderly man (Governor Nyako) brought three senators and six House of Representatives to PDP as one of its leading lights but was maltreated and forced out.”
A senior Senator told OluFamous.Com that another set of about five senators will follow next month.
The PDP senator said: “To be candid, we are 17 senators that will dump PDP to APC in the Senate very soon. This is a serious matter and not a joke, making me to lead the way by joining the APC already.”Below are the names of the Senators who are decamping from PDP to APC...
